The reality of working in the arts for Creators, Performers and Exhibitors

Format:In-personLocation:Fireside ChatTrack:Livestreamed

In this fireside chat we’ll explore the Suisha Inclusive Arts initiative that offers a four-year paid work program for up to four amateur artists aspiring to become professionals, with three alumni successfully transitioning into employment or freelance work and three new participants currently enrolled. This program significantly increases representation of disabled artists, inspiring emerging artists and encouraging inclusive hiring practices within the arts sector. Supported by the Irish Department of Social Protection through the Community Employment (CE) program, Suisha has secured innovative, ringfenced positions for disabled artists. Additionally, the program has driven policy changes, such as revising police vetting processes when working with disabled adults in Ireland.
