UNIDO’s PLaCED Initiative for Advancing Inclusive Entrepreneurship for Persons with Disabilities
At UNIDO, we are committed to fostering sustainable industrial development and creating inclusive job opportunities for individuals affected by conflicts. Through our PLaCED (Post-Conflict Livelihood Creation through Entrepreneurship Development) program, we address the unique needs of the most vulnerable groups impacted by conflict. We believe in empowering these individuals through tailored industrial interventions, establishing a foundation for self-reliance and sustainable prosperity.
Our approach focuses on creating an environment that promotes a diverse and inclusive job market, ensuring that no one is left behind. By advancing inclusive business ecosystems, we aim to dismantle barriers and establish clear pathways for those affected by conflict to rebuild their lives and contribute meaningfully to their communities. Through PLaCED, UNIDO upholds the Leave No One Behind (LNOB) principle and advocates for the essential Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus. We envision a future where industrial development acts as a catalyst for positive change and empowerment for all.
