INCLUSIVE-IT: An innovative training programme to recruit new IT professionals
INCLUSIVE IT is an innovative project that provides high-quality IT trainings for people with disabilities, supporting them to successfully enter the IT job market.
In a 12-month IT training programme, candidates are trained as IT specialists: theoretical knowledge is acquired through collaborative learning and innovative methods, such as virtual classrooms and coached learning; practical learning takes place at the participating companies. The objective of this initiative is both to reduce unemployment among people with disabilities and to address the shortage of IT professionals in the labour market.
Within this project, individuals undertake a dual vocational IT training, leading to internationally recognized IT certifications. Next to a hybrid training concept, including a coached learning environment, the participants gain valuable practical experience through on-site trainings. Work & Learn: these IT internships take place in companies alongside the training. Upon successful completion of the training program, participants receive internationally recognised IT certificates and have the opportunity to be employed by the partner companies.
The INCLUSIVE IT project is a chance to tap into a previously overlooked pool of highly motivated, IT-savvy individuals, thereby addressing the skills shortage in the IT sector.
The project is conducted by ETC – Enterprise Training Center and NEBA (Integration Support Service) in collaboration with Microsoft, partly funded by the Ministry of Social Service / Affairs and the Labour Market Service in Vienna.
