Dave Carthy

I trained as a Telecommunication Engineer in Ireland in the late 1970’s. I changed career in the early 80’s and entered the Electronic Security Industry. In 1990 I attained membership of the Security Institute of Ireland, by examination. I remain an active member to this day.

In 1986 Dave founded Sound Security. It was while in this industry, circa 1992, that I realized that some Security products could assist persons with disabilities to achieve greater independence.

• I approached the Central Remedial Clinic in Dublin for advice and with their support a new chapter in my career was opened.

Since then I has have many distribution agreements with major manufactures of AT devices worldwide.

As IDEAL TECHNOLOGY, I am hands on with the installation, recommendation and sourcing of AT products for persons with disabilities.

I continues to source new products and services, attending International Trade Shows annually.

I have prepared many Expert Witness reports on Assistive Technology for the courts, in Ireland and the UK. I will continue to assist the courts as and when required.
