My organisation

In 2021, the Barabás Lőrinc Quartet has been completely revamped with a new line-up and sound. The latest album 'Open' is more experimental than the previous ones, with style and sound reminiscent of Miles Davis' and Erik Truffaz's jazz fusion albums. The new band has reinterpreted previous songs and made them part of their musical journey, as they have proven in numerous local and international performances. About me

Peter Ajtai is a member of the radical young jazz generation who reject convention while playing at the highest level of sonic excellence. Despite his young age, he has worked in many genres from free jazz to mainstream and folk music. In addition to his high school studies, he attended music lessons with Gábor Busshy and Balázs Horváth. After graduation, he studied with József Horváth Barcza at the Béni Egressy Jazz Conservatory, and in 2008 he was accepted to the Jazz Department of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, where he graduated with a Master's degree. He studied classical bass with Zsolt Fejérvári and Gergely Járdányi. He is a member of the Geröly Trio, A.M.P. and various orchestras of Béla Ágoston, and has played in the orchestras of Frank London, Mihály Dresch, Gábor Gadó and István Grencsó. He regularly performs abroad and at home with such eminent European free improvisers as Johannes Bauer and Lewis Jordan.
