About me

Mónica Duhem joined in 2023 the Global Initiative for Inclusion of Information and Communication Technologies - G3ict as the Director of the Global Advisory Center. G3ict is a nonprofit organization launched in December 2006 in cooperation with the UN to promote accessibility provisions for ICT under the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Mónica has led projects supporting countries in developing policies for the digital inclusion of vulnerable groups, as well as training organizations of persons with disabilities and private companies. Some of the most important projects led by Mónica in recent years include working with the World Bank to create recommendations for accelerating the inclusion of persons with disabilities in Uzbekistan's digital economy and collaborating with the World Economic Forum to develop policies for the G20 Global Smart Cities Alliance. Together with the private sector, Mónica has led gap analysis and inclusion policy recommendations for global companies. Prior to her role at G3ict, Mónica founded HearColors, a leading company in Latin America focused on digital inclusion that trains programmers, designers, and communicators to make digital information accessible to vulnerable groups. As a digital inclusion consultant for the UN, she directed training projects in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
