My organisation

Ukrainian women with disabilities founded and led OPD Fight For Right. We are fighting for the rights of people with disabilities in Ukraine. We are working to ensure that every person with disabilities knows their human rights and freely exercises them. And with the beginning of a full-scale invasion, we organised Emergency Response to help Ukrainians with disabilities with evacuation, providing targeted assistance, psychological support and legal advice.

About me

Ukrainian disability rights advocate and human rights defender, the founder of Fight for Right, a national organization led by women with disabilities. In 2022, spearheaded the creation of an emergency response mechanism following Russia’s full-scale invasion, saving the lives of over 35,000 Ukrainians with disabilities. The work empowers girls and women with disabilities, ensuring our meaningful participation in decision-making processes.

Currently involved in advocating for deinstitutionalization in Ukraine, promoting an inclusive and accessible recovery for the country, and advancing disability-inclusive International Humanitarian Law.

One of the BBC 100 Women in 2022 and Obama Leader Europe. In 2020, received the Ukrainian National Human Rights Award. Holds an LLM in International Disability Law and Policy from the University of Galway, Ireland.
