Joseph Murray

Dr. Joseph J. Murray is President of the World Federation of the Deaf and Board Member of the International Disability Alliance. Dr. Murray has 25+ years of international disability rights experience and has worked as an advisor for NGOs and deaf and disability communities in over 50 different countries, including, most recently, as member of the official Norwegian government commission for sign language.  Dr. Murray is Professor of Deaf Studies at Gallaudet University and has published widely in human rights, linguistic rights, deaf studies and applied linguistics.
