About me
Erika Colon is an award-winning artist and inclusion advocate who bridges the worlds of music, education, and human rights. She is the Founder and the Artistic Director of White Hands Chorus NIPPON, a pioneering inclusive choir where children with and without disabilities co-create music through voice and visual expression using sign language.
In 2024, the White Hands Chorus was honored as a Zero Project Awardee. She currently serves as a member of the Zero Project Inclusive Arts Experts Committee. In 2025, she was named the recipient of the prestigious Niels Bank-Mikkelsen Award, further highlighting her contributions to inclusive cultural transformation.
Erika continues to promote “Social Inclusion through the Performing Arts,” creating stages where every child’s dignity is celebrated, regardless of ability or background.
