About me
Stefanie Dannenmann-Di Palma has been working for the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction since 2005 first as Programme officer for the Platform for Promotion of Early Warning, from 2011-2017 as Deputy Chief at UNDRR’s Regional Office for Europe and since 2017 as External Relations Officer in Brussels, Belgium where she is managing UNDRR’s global external relations to the European Union. In 2013, she got first involved on disability inclusive disaster risk reduction when preparing for the World Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction. Since then, she has been the focal for accessibility questions within UNDRR. In 2019, Stefanie has been officially appointed as UNDRR’s focal point for the UN Disability Inclusive Strategy (UNDIS).
Previously, she has worked for Swiss Federal Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research and World Institute for Disaster Risk Management in Davos, Switzerland and for Swiss Reinsurance in New York, USA. She holds a PhD in Geology from SUNY Albany, New York. She is married with two children.
