About me
I am a Bioengineer with an emphasis on biomechanics, graduated from the University of Antioquia, and currently the CEO of the NGO Humanos 3D, with 6 years of experience in the fabrication of assistive devices using 3D printing technology. My main goal is to help people with disabilities.
My professional career has focused on the analysis and design of prosthetics, with additional skills in the commercialization and repair of 3D printing equipment. I also have a good level of English and foundational knowledge of French, which allows me to communicate effectively in international contexts.
In 2019, I had the honor of being part of the development team for the robotic arm "El Medallo" at Humanos 3D, a project awarded by the Government of Antioquia in the Innovantioquia program. This achievement demonstrates my ability to work on innovative projects and my dedication to finding accessible solutions for people with disabilities.
In recognition of my performance as Director of Operations at Humanos 3D, I was distinguished in 2021 as "Ingeniero Sembrador de Estrellas" by the University of Antioquia. This distinction highlights my commitment and contribution to the prosthesis donation strategy for people living in remote areas through our mobile clinics project. The program has managed to benefit a large number of people, and I am motivated by the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others through a socially driven, non-profit initiative.
Additionally, during the year 2022, I received recognition from the Vice-Rectory of Teaching at the University of Antioquia for sharing my experiences, knowledge, and emotions with students during their academic internships. This recognition reinforces my commitment to education and supporting the training of future professionals.
Since 2023, I have been part of the leadership board for innovative projects for the disabled population under the Social Inclusion and Family Secretariat of the Government of Antioquia, reinforcing my commitment to change and building a better country.
Currently, I have won the best DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) pitch award from the LIF (Leaders in Innovation Fellowships) program of the Royal Academy of Engineering, presented in London in competition with 60 other participants internationally.
Additionally, I have been chosen as the winner of the social responsibility program of Caracol Television's "Titanes Caracol," in the science, technology, and innovation category, gaining national recognition and visibility for the Humanos 3D project.
My interest in research keeps me updated on the latest advances in the fabrication of assistive devices. I am constantly seeking opportunities to learn and grow professionally, which is why I am in a leadership strengthening program as a candidate for Acumen Fellows and as a fellow in the Zero Project Scaling Solutions 2024-2025 program
