About me
Ameesha Prabhu, Co-Founder and CEO of the Trust for Retailers and Retail Associates of India (TRRAIN) is a visionary leader committed to fostering inclusive growth through the retail industry. With a career spanning over 32 years—from shop floor associate to Head of Buying in various retail formats —Ameesha brings a well-rounded perspective and deep empathy for front-line retail associates. She is a product development expert & has led many categories at various retail stores.
At TRRAIN, Ameesha is responsible for planning, developing and nurturing transformative initiatives that uplift Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and Young Women from marginalized backgrounds, by creating sustainable livelihood opportunities. Since TRRAIN’s inception in 2011, she has played a pivotal role in growing its impact, with TRRAIN Pankh and TRRAINHer Ascent programmes having collectively empowered over 32,000+ PwDs and 12,500+ young women. In the 2023-24 fiscal year alone, her leadership contributed to the livelihood creation for more than 10,000+ individuals, of which 6200 were persons with disabilities. Today more than 1000+ recruiters hire from TRRAIN
Ameesha’s belief in the power of a diverse & inclusive workforce has led her to advocate the same with many recruiters. Her hands-on mentorship makes her a role model for TRRAIN’s young, dynamic team. She enjoys sharing her insights with aspiring professionals and entrepreneurs, strengthening TRRAIN’s mission to build a more equitable and empowering community for all.
